THE TRANSPORT OF KYIV

You can get from the airport "Boryspil" to your hotel in several ways:

You can use taxi service (individual transfer) from the airport (from the terminal B) to your hotel. It will cost approximately 30-40$. It is recommended not to use the service of the taxi drivers who meet you at the entrance of the airport because their price is traditionally 3 times higher than the price of the taxi ordered to the airport.

At the airport ‘Boryspil’, just near the Terminal B (the place of your arrival) taxi and buses are at your disposal. You can get to Kyiv by the regular bus ‘Atass-Polyot’ (Атасс – Полет). It costs 4.60 $. The trip takes about an hour, the bus will take you directly to the Railway station (situated in the center of Kyiv), from where you can take taxi to your hotel (about 10$).

At the moment all means of public transport function in Kyiv:

Tramway, trolleybus, bus and mini-bus (‘marshrutka’).
The tickets are sold in transport by a driver or conductor.
One should pay the fare just after entering.
The cost – 0,10- 0,40 $

Underground railway (Kyiv Metropolitan). There are 3 lines in Kyiv Metropolitan. 45 stations with 3 interchange stations in the center of Kyiv are at the disposal of passengers.
The tokens are sold in the ticket offices of Kyiv Metropolitan at the entrance.
The cost – 0,10$.

Funicular – an attractive mean of transport because of a spectacular panorama of Kyiv. The route runs from Podol (Poshtova Ploscha metro station) to the Upper Town of Kyiv. The funicular was constructed in 1902-1905 and opened on 7 May, 1905.
The length of the route is 238 meters.
The cost – 0,10$

PALACE OF SPORTS and official hotels of the Championship (‘Russ’, ‘President Hotel’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Premier Palace’) are perfectly located in the center of the city; it is 10 minute walk from the place of the competitions.

It takes only 10 minutes to get to the main street of Kyiv – Khreschatyk, where you can find a lot of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions.

The Palace of Sports is located:

35 km far from the Boryspil International Airport;
2 km from Maydan Nezalezhnosti – the heart of the city and the main street of Kyiv - Khreschatyk;
6 km from the Railway station;
5 km from the River port;
10 km from the International Exhibition Center;
5 km from the Palace ‘Ukraine’;
4 km from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra;
and near shopping mall and entertainment center ‘Arena’.
